At 20:04 on September 12, 2024, the No.1 boiler and No.2 turbine generator of the thermal power zone training, commissioning and performance assessment technical service project for the Chalco International Indonesia 1000Kt/a Alumina Project successfully achieved grid connection. This laid a solid foundation for the commissioning and official operation of the alumina plant and marked a crucial milestone for the overall project. As the self-owned thermal power plant of the Chalco International Indonesia Mempawah 1000Kt/a Alumina Project, the station is equipped with three sets of 180t/h high-temperature and high-pressure CFB boilers (two in operation and one standby) and three 25MW turbo-generator units.
The company attached great importance to the grid connection work of the No.1 boiler and No.2 unit. All members of the project team responded actively, adhered to the principle of "safety first and quality priority", organized all work meticulously in strict accordance with the overall startup plan, and worked day and night to ensure precise implementation of every procedure. During the process, the project team gave full play to the leading and exemplary role, guided Indonesian trainees to have an in-depth understanding of the system and conduct repeated operational drills, providing solid support for the on-schedule grid connection of the two units.
During the unit commissioning process, the project team maintained a rigorous and meticulous working attitude, strictly implemented the Overall Unit Startup and Commissioning Measures, and fully complied with all commissioning specifications. The team strictly controlled technical standards throughout the commissioning process to deliver responsible and satisfactory results for the client. Through days of unremitting efforts, the project team coordinated all participating parties and arranged technical backbones for round-the-clock work. It successfully completed boiler startup, turbine rolling and various commissioning tests, and realized parallel connection and load transfer of the isolated grid system as scheduled. The units operate stably with all parameters meeting design standards, fully demonstrating the company’s strong project execution capability and professional technical strength.
The successful completion of this key commissioning milestone has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent commissioning of the No.2 and No.3 boilers as well as the No.1 and No.3 units, and paved the way for the upcoming no-load test, load test and full production of the alumina zone. Going forward, taking this achievement as a new starting point, the company will continue to undertake responsibilities with a high sense of mission, devote itself to the commissioning and operation of remaining units, pursue excellence in every working link, and contribute to the full success of the overall project.
