Celebrating Cambodian New Year Together, Building a Bridge of China-Cambodia Friendship
April 13 to 16 is the Cambodian New Year, also known as Songkran Festival, one of the most important traditional festivals in Cambodia. On the arrival of the Cambodian New Year, CEL, the owner of the Sihanoukville Project in Cambodia, warmly invited employees of the project department to participate in its celebration activities to celebrate the traditional Cambodian New Year. To enrich employees' cultural life and deepen their understanding of Cambodian culture, the project department gladly accepted the invitation, allowing Chinese employees to feel the joyful atmosphere of the Cambodian New Year.
Before the activity, Chinese employees and local employees of the project department carefully arranged the venue and prepared local specialty food in accordance with Cambodian traditional customs. The site was decorated with various balloons, colorful bunting flags, woven ornaments and auspicious patterns, creating a strong festive atmosphere. Local Cambodian employees introduced their traditional New Year customs and games, such as ancestor worship, tomb sweeping, tug-of-war and Angkun tossing. The colorful Cambodian New Year celebrations not only reflect people's reverence for deities, but also demonstrate their yearning for a harmonious and beautiful life.
At the event site, diverse elements of Cambodian culture were displayed like a gorgeous scroll. Exquisite traditional Cambodian costumes, colorful decorations and melodious traditional music made all employees immersed in the joy. Local people in gorgeous traditional costumes performed elegant and attractive ethnic dances. The food area was filled with inviting aromas. Everyone exchanged their feelings about Cambodian culture and shared joy and gains with each other in a warm and harmonious atmosphere just like a big family. The whole site was filled with joy and peace, presenting a fantastic exotic festive scene.
After the activity, Chinese employees of the Sihanoukville Project Department said that they deeply felt the charm of Cambodian culture and the warmth of a foreign land.
